The highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s Black Panther, Wakanda Forever hit theaters on November 11, 2022, after the unexpected passing of lead actor Chadwick Boseman. It earned $84.3 million on its first day, making it the largest November opening weekend ever, and remained the top film in its second and third weekends, grossing over $66.5 million and $32.1 million, respectively. It was estimated to earn $175 million in the US and Canada and was projected to earn $435-543 million domestically. Its opening weekend gross was $331.6 million, making it the third-largest opening of the pandemic era. As of Feb 2, 2023, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” has earned $842.2 million globally, making it the 6th highest-grossing film of 2022.
